Going for CCNP... Again
I was dumb and let my CCNP certification expire, so I am going to recertify it. Just bought the ROUTE certification guide on Amazon. I need to read my IPv6 book quickly!

I have a new book to read.
We got our first win in the 30+ old guys soccer league… 5-1. It was a very impressive win for us. We had some good attacks, I was mostly watching from the sweeper position. My best place is to stay back on defense and try to disrupt their attack.
It’s been a good few days. First, the Saints win; then the next night we win a soccer game! I couldn’t ask for more than that.
It is a snow day, the kids are off of school. The 19 month old is in day care because they don’t close unless there is a level 3 snow emergency. The older one is at his friend’s house.
Yesterday, I just played the first real soccer game of my life. I’ve coached kids plenty, and I’ve played against them, but never a serious game against adults. We lost 12-3 after scoring the first goal. I mostly played left back and I guess I played about as well as most of the guys. I didn’t hurt the team too bad, but I didn’t help much either. I am most proud of blocking a shot with my thigh. I don’t know how many days I will be sore. There is another game next week, and I hope I am recovered enough for that. We’ll see. I think I might try dribbling the ball next game. No one played mid field and tried to take the ball down. We didn’t look like a cohesive team. Whatever maybe next week we’ll be better.

i met you
luckiest guy in the world
you have given me everything
my life began nine years ago
when I met you
you have given me
everything that matters
i can only cry when i think
of what you mean to me
all you have to do is say hello
and all my problems go away
thank you, i love you
i won’t be with you forever
but i wish i could be
i have the feeling that
you’ll have to move on
without me one day
remember that you will
always be the best to me
thank you
i love you
always

Cuddly was my other hamster. He outlived Tyler Palko by a few months. We got them a day apart from the pet store. I knew he was almost ready to go. He wasn’t eating too well the past few days. I found him the morning before he was stiff halfway out of his igloo. My son named him Cuddly when he was 4 years old. He lived about 3 years. He was a gray hamster.

I need to be an ipv6 specialist… we are about 2 years from running out of IPs in ip4. Read, read, read, write, blog, experiment… With wifi phones seeming to catch on and skype, why pay for a cell phone + contract? Phone companies are losing land line subscribers to VOIP companies like Vonage. Their cell phone businesses will go down the same way to wifi VOIP. Cell phones still have a big gap, but I think wifi will overtake cell phones in about 5 years. Why have voice networks anyway? Seems wasteful when data networks carry voice just fine.

I found my buddy Tyler P, the hamster dead yesterday in his igloo. He wasn’t looking too well the last few weeks. He wasn’t moving around much. He lived a long life, over 4 years, and I enjoyed taking care of him and feeding him. He is survived by his room mate Cuddly. We buried him at the tree line in the back yard and put a rock over his grave. I wish I had a picture of him to post, but he was a yellow and white hamster.
